When I was a child, thirty years ago, China-US relationship was so hostile as it is now between US and North Korea. There was a slogan in my village, some two thousand away from Beijing. That was quoted from former Chinese leader, Mao Tsedong: "Dig a deeper cave, Store more rice, Never be hegmony!"

Actually the US bomber never stormed my hometown or any other city in China. Every one hated US at that time and it is hard to imagine I could one day set my foot in US.

So does the Iraqi. So does the Afghanistan. But there is one difference, most of the Chinese do not believe God and religion has no effect to regular life of Chinese people. So how long the Iraqis or Afghanistan people will hate American?

I am sorry to know that Bill is hospitalized. And he had a heart problem!

I admire Bill because he is young to me even he left the White house for four years. I can't imagine why he afflicted this problem. When he visited Shanghai several years ago, he had very simple dinner in Yu Yuan Gardens, which impressed me a lot. And he was the president of US and on the contrary, most of Chinese local cadres enjoy huge and wasteful banquet even though it is relatively poor in China or some impovarished countrysides. The dishes in the the Garden are famous in Shanghai or across China and he only had a taste of them.

I am happy his suffering is nothing to do with the dinner in China!

While American movie-goers enjoy the new Chinese film "Hero", Chinese bloggers are criticizing Zhang Yimao, the director.

Having been a popular in China for more than a decade, most people don't like his way to decribe China such as the eight-minute show in the Olympic closing ceremony. Zhang represents a "old fashioned " China and some young Chinese don't agree.He can only "raise the latern" to a huge one as in the closing ceremony.

Most people say that he is a good director to make something about the poor, remote countryside, but not for modern, romantic life.

Others believe that he is always playing the color and photography since he majored photography at his college time.

Chinese movie-goers had enjoyed the film almost a year ago and they are enjoying his new film "House of Flying daggers". His technique,especially the Kong Fu, is nothing better than "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" did.
